Thanks to a recommendation from my barber, we spent yesterday morning hiking around Griffith Quarry in nearby Loomis, pocket camera in hand. It was a very doable hike for the kids and had some pretty scenery. As we hiked around, I noticed numbered posts so perhaps there are some pamphlets that we missed that give a bit of history about the place. It is nearby so we can easily go back another day.
The kids were great hikers, Darcy especially. Whenever she would get fussy and want Jayne to lift her up, I would yell back to her, "Good hiking Darcy, you're so fast" and she would hold Jayne's hand, smiling wide, while she ran to me, giving me a high five upon arrival. It was almost uncanny that it worked every single time.
Jeff was a good leader and led us to some great vistas. All in all, it was a great hike and one we will do again.
