OBX Day 1

How does one begin when reflecting back on the perfect vacation? That is honestly how I feel as I take in the entire week we spent on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. When I say "perfect" I do not suggest that it was flawless. After the traffic of day 1, I was all but ready to give up on a relaxing trip. A 6 hour anticipation turned into 10+ hours on the road due to the traffic at various points along the way. And don't get me started of the "parking lot" once you got on the island. You see, houses are rented from Saturday-Saturday, so everybody comes on the same day. Lesson learned for when we go back (which we will), leave earlier.
So the trip started a little rough, but then we arrived at the house. Jon's Place, the home's name, is found on Coral Lane in the town of Corolla. From the exterior, it doesn't look like much, but the interior was nicely furnished and more than adequate for our family and the De Waal's, who joined us. We nestled into the house, made a trip to the Food Lyon for perishables(we got most of the non-perishable stuff at Wegman's a few days before) and vegged out after a long day of traveling.
Jeff and Megan loved looking at the lighthouse within view of our balcony.
So here you see our house. Psst! Its the one in the photo below. It was about a block from the beach access.

It looks like fun. We never made it to the OBX before we left. I bet that was great being so close to the beach.
