Road Trip Day 2

We thought this was funny because even Direction Girl knew there was nothing in Nebraska.
See?!

Another day, another report. We are making great time and drove another 860 miles today and are currently staying at a Hampton Inn (great stay last night) in North Platte, NE. If all holds well, we should make it to and through Salt Lake tomorrow to about Elko, NV and onward to home by Tuesday afternoon. Jayne squealed giddily when she heard that. They had a good flight today and are resting safely in at Nana and Grandpa's already. Perhaps she can get on and highlight her trip later.

Nebraska is well, Nebraska. We didn't get the benefit of miles and miles of corn even since all the fields have been plowed. We decided to follow the GPS route and instead of taking I-70 to I-74 to meet up with I-80, it had us take some relatively unknown roads straight through Missouri, where we eventually met up with 80 as it dipped southward. All in all, no time lost since these roads were relatively empty and had good speed limits (mostly 65 or 70) the whole way. Thank you Direction Girl (Jeff's name for the GPS)! We got to drive across the Mississippi River and even drove through Mark Twain's birth city of Hannibal, Missouri.

We keep driving by and thinking "they're really gone." Can't believe y'all just up and left us! Just like the Lintons and soon to be like the Austons. It's been fun in our little neighborhood, though. Glad to hear the drive is going smoothly!
