Last week I went on a trip down the New River (which is actually the oldest river in the US) with Ross Rigby, canoer extraorinaire, Jared Parkinson, the budding adventurer, and Clark Larson, fellow canoeing novice. We drove down Thursday morning and set out about 2 pm on the river. After traveling about 6 miles, we arrived at our campsite. The first day was rather lazy, with Clark and I being the chauffeurs for Ross and Jared, the would-be fisherman.
Here we are after an easy first day (I don't actually have any pictures on the river, but they are forthcoming). Actually, I'm going to stop here and update once I get some more photos. Needless to say, our spirits were high after day one, little did we know of the trials that awaited us...

I like your tent! :) I am glad you guys had dun & that you all lived to tell about it! We need to get Clark's camera developed of the pictures he took...
